Notice: These terms are pending review by qualified legal counsel and may be revised before public launch. By using After Amen during the pilot phase, you accept these terms as they stand today.
By creating an account on After Amen ("the Service"), you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
After Amen is a Bible study and discipleship application that uses artificial intelligence to assist Users with Scripture engagement, sermon coaching, journaling, prayer wall participation, and related features. The Service is provided by Robert Bergstrom ("we", "us", "our").
After Amen uses AI language models (currently Anthropic Claude and OpenAI embeddings) to generate Bible study responses and sermon feedback. AI output:
We make no representation that AI-generated content is theologically infallible. Pastoral care, marital counsel, mental-health support, and emergency situations should be directed to qualified humans (your pastor, a counselor, or 988 for crisis support in the United States).
After Amen tunes AI responses to a configurable doctrinal lens (currently aligned with the Assemblies of God's 16 Fundamental Truths). This is intentional. Other Christian traditions hold different positions on some matters addressed by this lens.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
You retain ownership of content you submit (prayer requests, journal entries, sermons, AI conversations). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store and process it as necessary to provide the Service. We will not sell your content to third parties.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes on others' rights.
Premium features may require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the in-app billing portal. When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to premium features until that date. After expiration, your account automatically reverts to the free tier.
After Amen relies on third-party services to operate, including Anthropic (AI generation), OpenAI (text embeddings), Render (hosting), Hostinger (web hosting and email), and Stripe (billing). Your data is processed by these services as described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to:
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from within the app or emailing info@after-amen.com. Upon termination, we will delete your account data within 30 days, except as required to retain by law or to resolve disputes.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and via in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
